This new, ground-up facility is being studied for a mixed-use development in a fast growing, southern end of Denver. The design strategically incorporates modern elements, such as the sun screen, without compromising the architectural integrity and charm of the classic brick veneer. The proposal additionally includes a rooftop restaurant and bar, which balances the clients programmatic requests while maximizing connections to the vibrant surrounding neighborhood. This 60,000 sf, three story facility includes retail first floor suites as well as private office suites in the upper stories, and a roof deck that serves the public as well as building staff.check back to see new developments on this exciting project.

Colliers International

Colliers International is a leading global commercial real estate company.  For their Denver Technological Center location, the 15,000 space, our goal was to reflect their energetic and entrepreneurial culture. Built around several teams, the company sought to retain and increase their team’s bonds. With a need to balance entertaining guests while preserving clients’ significant privacy needs, we deployed a reception area that doubles as a large space with conference and board rooms able to open up and serve parties and gatherings. However, the conference spaces made use of “switch glass” walls and very large glass barn doors that can be transparent or opaque with the flip of a switch.

The Venture team was proud to design the ground-up local headquarters for Applied Control in South Metro Denver. The layout is designed to support engagement and collaboration among current employees while providing the flexibility to accommodate the rapidly expanding company’s significant growth projections. Managing a diverse team of more than 10 consultants throughout the project, we were able to orchestrate a final product that balanced the client’s programmatic requests with an aesthetically intriguing design and productive work environment. Features such as massive, 20’ x 50’ window with a permanently uninterrupted view of the mountains served their recruiting and retention efforts well.

Laser Tech

Venture designed a new 45,000 facility for Laser Tech, a global company that develops, tests, and assembles laser measuring devices for both the private and public market. Through close collaboration with the client and their brokerage team, led by Jim McGrath of Studley, we landed on a space that would support both their current needs and future growth aspirations. After selecting a site, we detailed the new space to reveal Laser Tech’s unique and vertical market approach to product design, production, and sale. The design features a level of sophistication that befits their status as an industry leader, while providing a strong connection to their Colorado headquarters location.

Summit Materials

Summit Materials

Summit Materials is a largely focused on acquiring, growing and improving heavy-side building materials such as ready-mix concrete, cement, and asphalt paving. After relocating to Denver, they chose Venture to design their new headquarters. Having leased an 18,000 sf space with two floors in Denver’s historic “Mercantile Building”, Venture was able to tie in numerous existing rustic features of the space with the heavy materials the company works with on a daily basis. Glass and sleek stainless steel accents balance the space and lend a contemporary vibe that fits their forward-thinking culture. The result is a very special space that reflects their product and attentively serves their team.

Rock Island

Acquired in 2006, the historic Case Plow and Rock Island buildings were built in the 1880’s and 1920’s, but they have largely sat dormant for over 30 years. Our team brought them back to life by designing the repairs and modifications to the core and shell to meet current day requirements. The use of both eye Market Tax Credits in addition to multiple historic tax credit sources posed many challenges. After a lengthy and intensive discovery phase, we were able to partner closely with the developer to deliver a unique and highly valuable multi-use property consisting of restaurants, retail, and residential.

Switzerland-based Mikron Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of custom automations for high-precision assembly. For Mikron Corp, their U.S. headquarters, the company sought a design that would help  them maximize productivity while maintaining the exceptional quality for which the company is known. focus This 67,000 sf engineering and fabrication facility near Dove Valley, outside of Denver Colorado produces high-precision machinery that is integral in millions of products worldwide. Through our intensive discovery process, we identified deep security needs blended with a team focused culture, which is reflected in the engineering and design suite. The result has allowed Mikron to harness the best talent in the region and due to their effectiveness, grow the company and necessitate multiple expansions.

Denver-based Extraction Oil & Gas is a pioneer in their industry. Focused on domestic shale energy production, they are leaders of exploration in the Rocky Mountains. To build a commensurate culture and community, the design focused on the team dynamics and sought to unite this new group into a close and effective culture. An egalitarian and flexible workplace strategy was key to building the best professional team possible.  Located at the top of Republic Plaza in Denver, their 75,000 sf, three story office including a new interior stair, the suite maximized rare, powerful, lofty views that symbolize their high impact company.

Harding Shelton Energy

Harding Shelton Energy

Venture designed the corporate offices for Harding Shelton Energy, a 30-year old energy company whose roots lie in oil & gas. The 15,000 sf is located in an adaptive mixed-use project in an 1880’s historic district. Blending the original loft’s textural materials with modernist detailing and futuristic design elements, we created an eclectic and memorable aesthetic that reflects the company’s character. The new office suite reveals the existing decorative concrete columns and ceilings, and great canal and downtown views. Alongside our partners at Wiggin’s Properties and Timberlake Construction, Venture’s design aids the company’s plans to move their forward-minded brand deep into the 21st century, reflecting the future of energy production in the decades to come.

OpenTable’s forward-thinking, energetic culture has helped revolutionize the relationship between diners and restaurants. For their new Denver offices, it was crucial that the space not only reflected the company’s values, but that it gave them the flexibility to accommodate future growth. The design team delivered a uniquely blended space that respects its unique context while staying true to the edgier aesthetic the company sought. Anchored by an expansive and centrally located community area, the offices feature “shipping containers” that help create an assortment of individual and team spaces, thoughtfully balancing the need for heads-down productivity as well as collaboration and team-building.  The result is a creative office that fully embodies OpenTable’s culture and goals and supports the need for functional, flexible workspaces.
